Catchin' Up

Well, what a busy, busy few weeks we've had! After we got back from Utah in May, I had jury duty(luckily only one day), my friend and her husband came for a quick visit, we packed, moved apartments, cleaned the old one, unpacked, tried to celebrate Barrett's birthday(a very sad attempt), and then Barrett started work in Dover for the summer.
We have loved our new 1064 sq.ft. apartment! I love being able to do laundry whenever I want, instead of waiting until I could get my quarters worth. Damon has finally adapted and seems to love all the space to run, run, run! We love having a view outside our windows, even if it is the freeway and parking lot. We can go on walks through our complex and see birds, worms, doggies, bunnies, and sometimes a few ducks. We're trying to get used to the new grocery stores and finding short cuts places, but have loved being 5 minutes to Costco and the Mall! We also finally got internet and I have been busy getting updated on emails and blogs! Come visit and enjoy our new carpet and space!!
This is what has been going on in June so far:
1. I went with a friend and her daughter to Lancaster, PA--Amish territory. The kiddies saw goats, horses and buggies, and some chickens. We shopped at a few little stores and had a lot of fun. The kids fell right asleep on the way home and looked so cute! Damon loves looking at the picture of his friend, "Ro" on the computer!
2. Barrett, Damon, and I went to pick strawberries. It was fun and Damon was a big helper. Afterwards, we rewarded him by letting him play on the fun tractor, slides, and little playhouse. I loved having strawberries fresh off the field. I've realized just how spoiled I was growing up having strawberry fields close by. Barrett has finally agreed that they taste 100 times better than store bought:)
3. Damon got a hair cut. Poor kid always had a very sweaty head and I gave in and let Barrett give him a summer buzz. He didn't really love the clippers, but was won over by sour skittles! The first few days afterwards, I was feeling really bad that his beautiful hair was gone, but it sure has helped him not be so sweaty.
4. We love our little balcony. The pool wasn't open during weekdays for awhile, so I would let Damon play in bowls of water. Now that he has learned to splash like crazy, I only let him have a cup of water and a paintbrush!
5. Damon has learned to "play". He's turned into a little boy that loves to throw balls and run like crazy. He loves to laugh and find reasons for us to make him laugh. One day he decided his Dad's shoes didn't need to be in their place, and proceeded to take them out one by one and bring them into the front room. After awhile, he decided to try them on:) He loves his little bear too. One day I decided it needed some lunch, so we put a bib on him and Damon pretended to feed him. It was so cute. It has been helpful when we're trying to brush his teeth--the bear gets a turn, then Damon! We got some new 2T jammies out for Damon, and he absolutely loves them! He's always excited to put them on. I can't figure out if it is the way the fabric feels, or what, but it is so cute!

I know more has been going on, but just can't seem to remember it all. We had a good Father's Day--which I think I redeemed myself as a loving wife after Barrett's birthday. Damon has been trying to say more words and is getting pretty good at most of them. We can't figure out why he wakes up by 6:30 every morning and hits the ground running--how can he have so much energy?! We can't believe summer is here and June is almost over! Hopefully we'll do more fun things so we can post more often:)
