Damon's been practicing his whistling skills. Today at lunch he whistled at me to get him something or just get my attention then says: Mom, I'm just going to whistle at you when I need something.
Me: No, just talk to me.
Damon: But people whistle at dogs to get them to do something, why can't I just whistle at you?
Me: Because I'm not a dog, I'm your mom!
We went to the Natural History Museum in DC last weekend. While we were walking along the sidewalk and seeing a half-eaten brown banana Tommy says: Hmmm... a banana, there must be monkeys here!
After meeting up with my cousin and her family at the museum, then eating dinner with them, we went to see Nathan. The boys were beyond excited.(I should have dropped the boys off with him so I could chat with my cousin! Next time) Nathan took us to see a few cool sites at night so of course the boys fell asleep on the way home. We laid them on the bed and Tommy woke up saying: Nathan's house, we're at Nathan's house! And he got really excited! Good thing he fell back asleep, it could have ruined the boys' BYU basketball game watching!
Damon had his first dentist appointment last week. The hygenist was explaining the camera and x-rays to him. She told him it was going to take pictures of his mouth. She pointed it at him and he did a big smile. I then told him he didn't need to smile for this kind of camera:)
Whenever we talk about the story of Abinadi and King Noah, the boys always say, "King Noah fired Abinadi." OR "Abinadi got fired." It never gets old:)
We have lots of friends having babies. Most of the boys' friends are having baby sisters. After buying some presents for baby showers, the boys had a great conversation in the car. It went kinda like this:
Damon: We need a baby sister.
Tommy: Moms grow them in their tummies.
Damon: Ok mom, how do you start to grow one?
Me: Well..............sometimes when you want something, you ask Heavenly Father for it. So, maybe you can pray for one.
Damon: Ok, well then, why don't you then...right now...say it in your prayers...
We recently read a book from the library about a little boy making a valentine for a girl that he likes. When I was done reading I asked Tommy if he wanted a girlfriend. His reply while shaking his hands in front of him: NO WAY!
After dropping off Damon at school one morning and getting back in the car, Tommy says: I just want to be a dad!
Me: You do? Why?
Tommy: Because I want to get married!
Me: You want to get married?! To who?!
Tommy: YOU!
Me: You can't marry me, I'm already married to dad.
Tommy: What?! Aw man!!
