Boy Fun
Damon has just about mastered his bike-riding skills this week. He can now take off on his own, stop, turn, ride in circles, ride on the grass (apparently it is more difficult than you think), and act/think he's doing a wheelie. Tommy was running alongside Damon and there was a mishap. Damon's tire bumped into Tommy's back, which made him trip, which made Damon's front tire somehow roll or rub Tommy's ear and shoulder. So to keep from more injuries, Tommy and I made Damon an obstacle course. Here it is:
RING OF FIRE
Dare Devil Damon had to ride through the RING OF FIRE
CROCODILE PIT
Ride over or across the crocodile pit without getting snapped by crocs.
WATER HOOP
This was originally the second phase of the obstacle course because we were worried Dare Devil Damon would get flames on him from going through the RING OF FIRE, so he would go through the water hoop to get the flames off.
HAUNTED HOUSE
Damon requested this...don't know why, but there it is with spooky ghosts, spiders, and bats.
SIGN AT THE END
We figured there needed to be a sign at the end to praise the Dare Devil after completing such a cool obstacle course. Tommy thought it needed to say AWESOME DUDE.
Damon would try to hop wheelies through it and thought he really was. He loved riding through it. Tommy eventually had to try it out to on his little push toy...so I had to push him through and hope he made it to the end. We had to give him a "name" too. So, Thunder Bolt Tommy was added to the course:)
We have THE BEST library story times here. Today was Bob the Builder day. After stories and watching Bob build a tool box, the kids got their own hard hat and were sent off to build with styrofoam, golf tees, and wooden mallets. My boys were in heaven. We were building for at least 45 minutes...probably longer! I think there was one other little boy left still working:) We had to come home and take pictures of their structures...after we stopped off at Dad's office to show him first (who knows if they'll still be intact when he gets home).

2 Wheeler!!
Damon tried to ride his bike without training wheels at our cousin's house last weekend, but didn't quite get the hang of it. Well, today Barrett took him out and off he went!! Tommy and I were at the store, so got a surprise show when we got home (Barrett was just about to leave for church meetings...and the car that so nicely waited for him, stopped and clapped for him!)
Dancing Boys
The boys love playing around on our keyboard. There's 30 or so various songs you can listen to. They discovered this beauty and just HAD to dance. Their dance moves crack us up!

Easter
Our Easter was very low-key this year. We were planning on Nathan coming for Easter, but tax season is busy and he just couldn't get away. The boys were so sad and disappointed Sunday morning when there was no Nathan:( We went to church and had an egg hunt in the afternoon. We had a delicious dinner and Skyped with family. We figured this was probably the first Easter we had all alone, just our little family. The boys loved hunting for eggs and little chocolate bunnies. Tommy ate every single one of those bunnies the second he found them! Damon just loved the hunt. A few days before Easter, we dyed eggs also. Each egg was dyed in about 3 different colors...the boys just kept dunking them! I am so looking forward to this coming week of no seminary! Hooray for Spring Break!!
A funny story: Tommy had a little Reeses' Pieces egg in his hand the other day for a little too long. When he opened his hand, he said very sadly, "Oh! It's hatching!!" It makes me smile every time I think about this:)

Spontaneous Weekend Adventure
Barrett had Good Friday off work and we were trying to come up with something fun to do as a family. Barrett finally had the great idea to go see my brother's family in West Virginia since they will be moving this summer to the west coast. We called them up and invited ourselves over. We loved it!! We packed up our car and headed out Thursday afternoon. We stopped for dinner then at REI. Barrett needed a bike and we had a coupon and dividend. Barrett asked to test ride the bike he was looking at and they fitted him with a helmet and orange vest then sent him outside. The boys thought it was the coolest thing to watch their dad ride a bike. They kept saying, "Can Dad buy that bike?" While he was looking around, I tried to occupy the boys and they found these cool bike helmets:) (And yes, he did buy the bike)

We made it to West Virginia that night and stayed up late talking. We had a fabulous time! The kids played and played. They rode bikes and scooters (sometimes with helmets and sometimes without), went to the park, went to Cooper's Rock to roast some hot dogs and s'mores, dyed Easter eggs, played outside, had an egg hunt, ate yummy food, enjoyed being together, going to an ice cream/gun shop, and loving our cousins! Unfortunately we had to leave Saturday late afternoon to get home for Easter Sunday and our responsibilities at church. We sure had a great time and are really going to miss our only cousins close to us (if 5 hours can be close!)

End of March
I found that I can't remember what projects we've done, so end up looking through my blog to help me out. Here's our March wall.

Damon's preschool had an art show one night with all the students' work on display. Here is Damon with his "witch". He had a couple more, but were a little too high up to take pictures of them.

One Friday night one of the kids in my seminary class had a lead role in the high school play/musical. We decided to take the boys along (it was cheaper than finding a baby sitter). Damon was really fascinated with it even though he didn't understand much...Tommy was pretty bored and ate a bunch of Dum-Dums.
Conference weekend is always fun. We enjoyed our Saturday sessions coloring and drawing. On Sunday, our friends came over. We ate yummy food, played, listened, colored, and had a great time! We are really going to miss them when they move this month!
