Easter Weekend

We had a pretty good Easter. On Thursday, Damon enjoyed a little egg hunt at playgroup. On Saturday, Kim and Nathan came. We stayed up late, went to church the next day, then home for our Easter Feast. Nathan provided us with an amazing Easter Ham from Honey Baked Hams. It was so good and better than anything we would have purchased. We also had tangy beans, french bread, deviled eggs, funeral potatoes (which we totally messed up but were still ok), and jello cake. Oh, and lots of candy:) We're glad we had visitors to share Easter with.

Climb Every Nightstand

Damon has learned to climb up things in the last few days. One day I watched him climb up a kitchen chair, then sit there.
Yesterday he climbed up and sat at the kitchen table browsing through a Pottery Barn magazine for like 20 minutes! One day I found him on a box near my bed playing with my night stand.
Today was the worst! I was at the table and kept peeking in my room. What do I see? My little boy, standing on top of my night stand!!
Is he crazy?!! I was about to go get him down, then thought...I need a picture! Then, I ran to get my phone to take a picture to send to Barrett right away. Hello, what am I thinking?! My 15 1/2 month old is standing on top of something taller than him, and I'm trying to take pictures!! All of a sudden, he falls and pretty much lands on his head. Of course he cried, but not for long and he didn't seem hurt. I checked him out to make sure. Later I see him climbing on his pile of blankets to get closer to the tv. Now I really need to move to a bigger place so I can hide my boxes!! May can't come soon enough!

Who's Your Paddy?

Grandma Rolayne sent this shirt to Damon. I took a bunch of pictures to try and capture the cuteness of the shirt and the cuteness of Damon--neither would cooperate. We're going to have another photo shoot tomorrow so Barrett can help me:) What would we do without digital cameras?!!

Rocks Rock

I am finding out that boys have this little "chip" in them that cause them to pick up things and throw them over and over again. Damon found an acorn in the diaper bag that he had picked up from the Temple last weekend. He played with it all that afternoon--it was great! The last 2 days, he's been playing with these 2 rocks on our porch and loves to carry them around and throw them. It is pretty fun to watch. On Friday, Barrett got home early, so we headed to the park. We brought a soccer ball and Damon loved kicking it all over the field. When I tried to film him, he ended up just picking it up and throwing it. He also kept getting distracted with all the dogs walking the trails. Oh, silly Dig-a-roos.

15 Months

Damon is 15 months today! This morning he had his 15 month check up with Dr. Murphy. He is 2 1/2 feet tall and weighs in at 24 lbs. 7 oz. His head circumference is in the 90th percentile--big noggin. He received 2 shots, cried real hard, then when I stood him up, he was fine. Silly kid.

Damon has accomplished a lot in the last month.
1. He is fully weened:)
2. He finally sleeps through the night--well, every 2 or 3 nights he still wakes up but only for 15-20 minutes.
3. Says uh-oh, woof, sound intonation for Peek-a-boo, and is beginning the sounds for "no".
4. Loves to look at books in his chair.
5. He got to see and touch 3 dogs recently and had absolutely no fear.

A few cute stories...
One night we were saying bedtime prayers with Damon. Barrett and I knelt down with Damon on my lap. He got right up and had to kneel beside his dad, with his arms folded, just like his dad--super cute! Barrett had a hard time getting through the prayer after that. Damon is starting to mimic a lot more now--watch out!
On Saturday we headed down to the Washington DC Temple. We guilt-tripped Kim into babysitting while we were there. Barrett and I walked out and saw Kim pushing an empty stroller with Damon throwing rocks and acorns. Pretty cute. Thanks a ton Kim--you're one of the best sisters ever:) Before we left for DC, I caught Damon carrying his dad's scripture case around the house, then he decided he needed it for a stool, so he could read over the gate?! So fun!
p.s. I am fully aware that Damon has a purple Dora chair. After weeks of searching in numerous stores and online for a "boy" chair, I finally gave up and bought a purple Dora chair--at least it wasn't pink princess:)

Sliding into Warmer Weather

This morning I heard on the radio that it was going to be 61 degrees! Since Damon took an extremely short morning nap and didn't really care to eat his lunch, we hoped in the car, wearing sweatshirts, and headed off to the park. Of course it was crowded, but so fun. Usually Damon just watches the other kids and the dogs that are walking on the trail, but today he finally discovered the slide.
I would put him at the top and he would scoot himself to slide down and usually ended up flipping onto his stomach for a dismount. Each time he would have a big grin and his hair would stick straight up from the static. He sure loved it!
