Our Labor Day Weekend was super fun this year! It started off with going to the beach with friends on Friday. The kids were out of school, so Barrett went to work early and got off early to hit the beach with us. The kids had so much fun playing with friends and the parents had a great time not having to entertain them every second. We stayed almost 4 hours then hit the boardwalk for dinner and Funland. All the kids (and parents) mentioned it was the best day ever!
On Saturday, we went to the pool in the afternoon. We told Tommy to take the swim test to see how far he could go, but he wanted to keep practicing. So he did. Barrett bought a new tv so he could get an antennae to watch college football and other sports. The boys had fun watching a little football. We also introduced the kids to the Beethoven movies. Hannah loved the dogs!
We did a few things Monday morning...buying a kitchen table (which was delivered later in the week, but not really delivered because they brought the wrong one, but having the chairs in the room made us realize what a horrible choice we made, so we special ordered a new one a few days later!!), scoring on super inexpensive soccer cleats, buying a bigger antennae for the new tv, and getting an awesome deal on new kitchen rugs! We took the kids to the pool for the last swim day of the season! It was a really hot day so it was pretty crowded, but so much fun. Tommy took the swim test!! We told him to see how far he could go. Well, this cute determined boy swam the entire length of the pool without stopping!!! They let him have a few seconds to rest, then he had to tread water for half a minute. Other people saw what was going on and cheered him on. We were soooo proud of him!!! He was beaming when he hopped out of the pool. The lifeguard put out his hand to give him a low five and Tommy held it. The nice lifeguard let him hold his hand to the office to get a GREEN wristband!!!!! He was so excited to swim in the deep end with Damon and Dad. It was hard to get him out of the pool when it was time to leave, even though he was exhausted! It was the perfect last pool day!
Damon had been begging me for weeks to dive for him. Since it was such a warm pool day, I didn't mind getting my hair wet:) We took turns diving in the deep end and swimming to the shallow end to see Dad and Hannah. The pool pass was definitely worth it this summer!
