Sickie

We've been really blessed with pretty good health. Damon has rarely been sick in his short 2 years of life. This last week or so he has developed a serious runny nose and a little cough, but still as happy as can be. Every so often he'll run into my room and get a wipe to wipe his nose. Yesterday he came down the hall with this (check the picture). I thought I was going to see the whole roll come along with it:)

Catching up

Well, one more term down...one left to go!! Barrett just barely finished another round of finals and final papers. He submitted his last paper yesterday then rushed off to a campout with the Scouts, leaving me alone with the boys. Not too many problems except every time I put Tommy down in his bed, he woke up. Part of me was very frustrated, but another part of me is hopeful that this means he's going to be a snuggler:) (something Damon was not). As I was waiting for him to start screaming in his bed, I started to catch up on my blog reading. I have been using Google Reader for awhile now and feel it is a definite timesaver, but it does have a downside...you don't get to blog hop:) So, I decided to click on actual blogs I was reading, which lead me to some great finds. I was able to find another friend's blog and a cousin's blog--so yay for me! I laughed at stories, felt very edified as I learned some new facts about life, and even cried at a few very sad posts. Before I knew it, Tommy had settled himself down in his bed and was asleep. A few hours later he was up again. After a few very short couple hours of sleep,he woke me up again, ate, and is now back asleep, while I'm blogging, and Damon's in his room singing songs for me to come get him. Ahhh...mom's jobs never end.

Pictures

So, here are some pictures of our boys.

I absolutely love Tommy's yawn. It makes me laugh everytime I see it. One day Damon was watching him and he yawned. Damon laughed and said, "dinosaur". Yeah, I guess Tommy does kinda look like a dinosaur when he yawns. (Thanks to Grandma Ro for the picture)

Damon loved wearing Grandma's reading glasses when she was here. They made him see different things...like steps/stairs that weren't there:)

We had some friends let us borrow their little farm set. Damon loved it! When it was his nap time, he would have to put all the animals to sleep...notice they're all laying down? Then, he'd wake them up when he was done with his nap. Too cute!

Tommy is starting to smile now and we've even heard a few cooing sounds. I woke Barrett up in the middle of the night one night to show him Tommy's smiles. And then since I had him awake, I started talking his ear off...I hadn't really talked to him much for a few days there (studying for finals, mutual, screaming babies off and on...)

Grandpa Barry stopped by on his way out of town from meetings. We had just over a day with him, but all 3 boys really enjoyed him (me too)!!

No More Visitors

Well, we're officially on our own now. Barrett's mom left last week and we have no more helpers on their way. We've slowly been getting used to it. Monday morning was ok, but by the afternoon...I was ready to call a nanny. No major break downs since then, plus I've been pretty productive. Tuesday I paid bills, did 4 loads of laundry, cleaned the oven, trimmed Damon's hair, and gave him a bath (those are the big accomplishments). Wednesday, we took Barrett to the train, tried to go to music group but got there just as everyone was finishing up, I had an appointment, we visited with friends, Tommy had his first blow out (at home thank goodness) so I bathed him, and had dinner ready when we picked Barrett up at the train that night. Today has been good so far...one load of laundry, heart cookies with sprinkles (made with a cookie press--Damon kept eating all the sprinkles), and now enjoying a little computer time. Oh, and I was finally able to wear a real pair of pants, not just sweats!!

So, we didn't take many pictures while Grandma Ro was here, but this one is too cute (plus her hair looks awesome). She mostly played with Damon, but did a great job making yummy dinners for us and having the magic power to quiet Tommy down when he was fussing. Thanks for coming Rolayne!
Damon has learned "one more time" and is constantly telling it to me for everything. I thought it was funny that I captured it in a picture (not on purpose). Every time he asks to hold Tommy, he then says "take a picture?". No, we don't take pictures every time you hold your brother.
