Celebration week

What a week. We had a lot of celebrations going on! We had a fabulous time at a friend's house for Cinco de Mayo. Tommy was Star of the Day in Preschool on Tuesday plus they boys went to a baseball game that night!

This week was Teacher Appreciation week, so the boys made these cute little flowers stuck in mint brownie bites. My idea was to make lollipop flowers, but Damon didn't think that showed our appreciation!

Tommy made a puppet show with Ninjago dudes taped to popsicle sticks. He even made "scenery". He's so awesome.

 Friday was Mother's Day Tea in Damon's classroom. His teacher is great. It was so fun to spend some special time with Damon. We had some tasty food then each child read a story they wrote about their moms. It was really cute:)

Friday night was Father's and Sons. The boys were so excited. They met some new friends and only came back with 3 ticks total (and they were super tiny!!). Hannah and I went shopping!

 

Since we're moving this week, I took a picture of our craft wall before it all comes down. Hannah only contributed the little chickie on the bottom right. She loves it:)

 

We spent a lot of time packing Saturday. We came across some awesome cassette mix tapes! Also, some pretty cute pictures of the kids as babies and the handsome engaged photos of us! The kids played outside while Barrett was mowing the lawn. Hannah found this bucket of dirt and loved it!

Sunday was Mother's Day! The boys made breakfast cake and orange julius. Damon made a poster for me too. I got a cute hand painted box from Tommy, plus candy and nail polish from my kids. I'm so lucky to have such adorable children:)

Nationals!

So, this week all 3 boys went down to a Nationals baseball game. They were super excited and had a lot of fun. They had awesome seats and enjoyed eating their hot dogs. They can't wait to go see the Giants in August!

Wizards Game

A few weeks ago, Barrett and Damon had a super awesome opportunity to see an NBA game...ground seats!!!! Nathan had some extra tickets that he got through work and invited the boys. They loved it! Free delicious buffet before the game, free lunchboxes, free candy, free ice cream, and awesome seats! Barrett promised Tommy a special outing with just him in the future since he couldn't go. During the game, Damon said to his dad, "Dad, you're going to have to do something really special with Tommy!" Yep, he knew how lucky he was to be there!! Thanks Nathan:)

Dover Days and More

The first weekend in May is always Dover Days. We love Dover Days! Friday night we go watch fireworks downtown. We ran into some friends and the kids had fun playing tag before the fireworks started. Always so fun. Saturday is the parade. We went to our usual spot in the morning. We were sad that none of our friends could join us, but we had a blast. Hannah enjoyed waving at everyone and getting candy, flags, balloons, sunglasses and more. She eventually lost interest and kept Barrett on his toes. The boys filled 2 lunch baggies with candy from the parade! We went down to the festivities and ran into some friends, but had to part ways to get Tommy ready for his preschool performance. He looked awesome!

 Our church participated in the parade this year and asked for volunteers to dress in pioneer clothing to help pull handcarts. These are some of our friends! They wanted to put our kids in the handcarts and pull them:)

 How could we pass up a picture of Tommy as a hot dog at the Oscar Meyer weinermobile?!

 Hannah was exhausted and slept through most of Dover Days...well, after the parade. Tommy thought it was funny that her piggie tail was sticking up.

 Tommy's preschool sang some fun songs down on The Green in colonial gear. Super cute.

We also discovered that Tommy's 2 front bottom teeth are growing in. With a double row of teeth, we now call him Shark Boy:)

I had been driving Barrett's little car all week since my breaks were getting bad. Barrett was able to change the breaks on the van Saturday afternoon. Then, we went and cleaned the church. We stopped by Fifer's on the way home which ended up being 20 minutes before they closed. Barrett picked out a peach pie and Tommy wanted apple cider donuts. Well, since they're closed on Sundays, the donuts ended up being free because they wouldn't be able to sell them in time. Awesome. Fifer's store had been remodeled too and it was really fun to walk around and explore. We sure miss that place in the winter!

We had a great weekend. Dover Days is always fun, but it was even Barrett that didn't have to go into work!!
