Adorable and Fun in the Snow!

My sister in law gave Hannah this adorable dress. My little niece wore it many years ago. It is a little sweater dress and super adorable! Everybody thought she looked like a bumblebee, but whatever...she was simply adorable Sunday! (ps. if you look close, you can see her little teeth)

Close up of this sweet face...notice those brown eyes? We're wondering if they'll last or change color.
Damon had Monday off school for a teacher day. Lucky for him, it snowed!!!! Yep, snow. And...enough to play in!! The boys had a great time. Hannah and I watched from the window:) Damon had this silly smirk on his face for his pose.

I let the boys make snowcones with snow and lemonade. They thought it was the coolest thing!
 Tommy playing in the snow.
Poor girl...this is how she spends her day.
The boys ( including Barrett) were dying for it to snow so they could play on the snowboard. Barrett came home from work and took the boys to the park near our house to go down little hills. They were in heaven. Unfortunately the camera stopped working out in the cold, so this is the only proof of the fun.
This is the Easter Bunny that Tommy drew for his friend. I love how his skills are improving!!

This Week

Damon's teacher sent home some guidelines for an art contest. This is what Damon submitted.

Our home teacher makes award winning ribs. He brought some over to us this week (along with a ton more food). Damon discovered he loves ribs!
Hannah has been given so many adorable outfits that I feel like I have to take her picture in each one.
 Tommy loves his Hanny-banany.
Damon wrote this in school. It's supposed to say, "When I grow up I will be a chef and my brother does too and my dad is a lawyer. My mom is nothing my sister too."  Thanks buddy.
Hannah's bib spun around and it reminded me of a cape!
Damon turned his snack into fruit shish ka bobs. He asked me to put it on the blog:)
And...the first day of spring means FREE RITA'S!! We picked Damon up from school then swung by and got Barrett, then stood in line for our free Rita's. Yummmmm!

St. Patty's Day Fun

Tommy drew this leprechaun for grandma one day. I think it is his best drawing yet! Pretty adorable.

Damon came home from school Friday and wanted to make a leprechaun trap (they had made them in school). The boys spent the rest of the afternoon making their traps. It was awesome...especially since I didn't have to do anything! Tommy said to me, "Mom, mine's going to have a cookie in it, so the leprechaun will smell the cookie, then I'll trap him!" He cut strips of paper and taped them to the sides of the boxes like a rainbow. The opening had strips of tape to get to a plate with a cookie on it.
Damon cut windows in his (which now he realizes were a bad idea because that's how the leprechaun snuck in and out). He also had toothpicks floating in the air and tape, sticky side out, all over the ground of the box.It was pretty creative!

The leprechaun snuck in, nibbled the cookies and must have got a little stuck because a few gold coins jiggled out of his pockets and got stuck on the tape. That sneaky little guy also got thirsty and drank some of our milk which turned it green, then he had to use the bathroom and didn't flush...it was green too!! Both boys were up before 3 in the morning asking their dad if they could check on their traps!!!????!!!!

Her is our sweet babe on St. Patty's day. She's sitting up by herself!! She needs someone behind her, but she's loving it!
We had some friends over for dinner. We made a fruit rainbow, had leprechaun bowties with pesto, green lemonade, green pudding dessert, and gold at the end of the rainbow treats. They brought delicious green rolls and green beans! It was really fun and tasty. The boys were extra wild and were bouncing everywhere. Eventually, they started playing sneaky mode and slithered down the stairs trying not to be detected by grown ups or cameras that were in the lights.

Here's all of the boys' creations. They both made the rainbow. Tommy made the cloud, the leprechaun, the shamrocks and the R for rainbow and G for green. Damon painted the big green shamrock at school. We also graphed Lucky Charms marshmallows, made rainbows with colored marshmallows (which wouldn't stick to the wall), and played Shamrock Bingo and Shamrock matching game.

Fun at the Temple

Luckily, we made it to the temple this last weekend. We didn't get great sleep the night before because of kids, so had a slow start, but we made it and were very grateful we did. Tommy was beyond excited! In the car, he said with a big grin, "Thanks mom for letting us go to the temple today!!" We explored the new Visitor's Center and had a great time. I even got to see some awesome friends from our old ward!!
We played outside in the fresh air. The boys love this rock and we visit it every time!
 Hannah loved watching the boys.
I let the boys hike down this huge gully/ditch/whatever.

Barrett took them to the "Motorcycle Park" and they played and had a great time, then they rode their scooters around in an empty parking lot. Since we had a late start in the morning, we needed to eat dinner somewhere. Every day after school, Damon asks if we can go to a restaurant for dinner. We haven't been to a restaurant (other than Chick fil-A) since way before Hannah was born, so we stopped at Red Robin and crossed our fingers she'd cooperate. She did great until the check came and then she woke up screaming. I quickly took her to the car and fed her, then we were off and she yelled almost the rest of the way home, but it was worth stopping!! We splurged and let the boys each order a kid's meal...usually we make them share. Tommy loved his corn dog, fries, and root beer! We were so glad we were able to make it to the temple. We were in much need of some spiritual upliftment and it was wonderful.

Cuties

Hannah is loving having a little more freedom. She loves to explore and taste everything. I did catch her on her knees this week too!!

Proof that she has two little teeth!
She backed up into the blinds and was crying, but then she realized her feet were hitting something, so she spun around and played with the blinds but then got bored and started crying to be rescued.
One night after dinner we all had cabin fever, so we bundled up and  were going to go for a walk, but when we got outside we realized it was kinda cold. We hopped in the car and drove over to a dead end road in the neighborhood that was still in the sun, and got out some energy. The boys rode scooters and skateboarded while I pushed Hannah in the stroller.
Tommy is pretty hilarious. I finally mopped the kitchen one day so all the chairs were scattered in the living room. Tommy had a little bear and they climbed all over the chairs. They were frogs climbing on lily pads, then the bears (he recruited another one) were being tossed and needing to be rescued, then they were on safari.
Then they sat down and Tommy said, "Mom, can me and bear watch a show?" They were great buddies this week!

One week all the kids were sick. Tommy had the chills and was shaking one day and when I asked him what was wrong, he said, "I'm too wiggly." It is always frustrating to have sick kids. At one point, both Tommy and Hannah were napping and I had to wake them up and put them in the car to pick up Damon from school. It was nice once everyone started feeling better.
We made pizza pockets for dinner this week. Tommy kept calling them "pizza wallets." It cracks me up every time I hear it!

Skateboarders

Barrett has been talking about buying a skateboard for awhile now. He's been going into work early a lot lately and still has his occasional night meetings, mutual, and campouts. The boys haven't seen much of him and were really missing him. When he got home from the campout/service project, he took the boys out for an adventure and came back with a skateboard. They were so excited! They went out and skateboarded for a bit, then came in for hot chocolate:)

5 Months

Well, it has been 5 months with this little baby cakes in our home. We just love her! She's been rolling around the house. Sometimes I find her in a different location if I have to leave the room for a second...always fun. She had been playing on her mat then rolled herself into a corner:)

Daddy was reading scriptures to us one evening and Hannah had to "feast on the word" too!

We finally started her on solid food. She seems to do ok with it and the boys think it's pretty fun.

The biggest news is she cut her two bottom teeth this week!! She was pretty miserable for a few days and so were Barrett and I without much sleep. The boys were really excited to see those little teethies in there and are often sticking their fingers in her mouth to feel them.
