St. Patty's Day Fun

Tommy drew this leprechaun for grandma one day. I think it is his best drawing yet! Pretty adorable.

Damon came home from school Friday and wanted to make a leprechaun trap (they had made them in school). The boys spent the rest of the afternoon making their traps. It was awesome...especially since I didn't have to do anything! Tommy said to me, "Mom, mine's going to have a cookie in it, so the leprechaun will smell the cookie, then I'll trap him!" He cut strips of paper and taped them to the sides of the boxes like a rainbow. The opening had strips of tape to get to a plate with a cookie on it.
Damon cut windows in his (which now he realizes were a bad idea because that's how the leprechaun snuck in and out). He also had toothpicks floating in the air and tape, sticky side out, all over the ground of the box.It was pretty creative!

The leprechaun snuck in, nibbled the cookies and must have got a little stuck because a few gold coins jiggled out of his pockets and got stuck on the tape. That sneaky little guy also got thirsty and drank some of our milk which turned it green, then he had to use the bathroom and didn't flush...it was green too!! Both boys were up before 3 in the morning asking their dad if they could check on their traps!!!????!!!!

Her is our sweet babe on St. Patty's day. She's sitting up by herself!! She needs someone behind her, but she's loving it!
We had some friends over for dinner. We made a fruit rainbow, had leprechaun bowties with pesto, green lemonade, green pudding dessert, and gold at the end of the rainbow treats. They brought delicious green rolls and green beans! It was really fun and tasty. The boys were extra wild and were bouncing everywhere. Eventually, they started playing sneaky mode and slithered down the stairs trying not to be detected by grown ups or cameras that were in the lights.

Here's all of the boys' creations. They both made the rainbow. Tommy made the cloud, the leprechaun, the shamrocks and the R for rainbow and G for green. Damon painted the big green shamrock at school. We also graphed Lucky Charms marshmallows, made rainbows with colored marshmallows (which wouldn't stick to the wall), and played Shamrock Bingo and Shamrock matching game.

Always so many fun projects going on at your house. You are so much more ambitious than I am. :) Love the fruit rainbow!
