Barrett finished his last day of work on Wednesday, where he ended up missing the bus home and had to wait an hour and a half until the next one. What a way to end!Thursday we headed up to Philly to go to IKEA and to campus. We had a yummy 99 cent breakfast and shopped for a few Damon items, then headed over to Drexel. Damon fell asleep in the car which made our buying books excursion pretty nice. We walked through Penn's campus to go to the place where Barrett could buy his train pass.
We picked Kim up that night from the train station. Damon immediately started showing off in the car--he sure is the entertainer. Friday we decided to take a trip down to the beach. Barrett had to work on some assignments for class on Monday, so the rest of us hung out, then went to the grocery store to stock up on yummy beach snacks. We thought leaving after lunch would make for a perfect drive, since Damon should take a nap. Well, we were wrong! He screamed and whined the whole way--10 minutes before we got to the beach, he was snoring away. We loved being at the warm Delaware beach. Diggs finally got used to the sand and water and birds and by the end of the day, was running down the beach leaving little footprints. Kim and I forgot our cameras and were a little bummed. We stopped at the GAP outlet so Barrett could get some school clothes--he ended up with a pair of jeans.
Saturday was another busy day. We drove down to the temple and Kim was willing to babysit. Poor girl. I'm sure she was ready for her Damon time to be over, even though we sure love our Kim time. We dropped her off at the Metro station and made our way home. Sleep finally caught up with Damon and he slept the whole way home!! We saw a sign on the freeway that said all lanes were closed due to an accident, so we went a different, longer route. We made the connection that the last time Barrett was on 695, he was driving out here to start school just about the exact time 4 years ago. Oh how much has changed:) We had a fun last hurrah before the stresses of school and church callings and a new baby creep into our lives. Good bye Summer!
