Tah-agged!

My cousin "tagged" me...a little while ago. I thought it was an interesting tag because it didn't have to do with my dating history, my favorite things, my life, my age, just simply this:
This is what you do:
1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog.
5. Tag 5 people.

"And by nodding, all the obys and all the girls had silently agreed that bending the contest rules a little was a good idea."
--No Talking by Andrew Clements

Yes, yes, it is an elementary chapter book. Sometimes in the library I just can't resist! This book is a Blue Hen Award--which means children in Delaware chose it as a favorite. I enjoyed it!

This little tag reminded me of playing "Pei-lar of Fire" with my brothers at Christmas time. One year my mom gave Matt or someone the book "Pillar of Fire" and he would have someone ask a question, open a page randomly, and read the first sentence out of the book. It was so fun--kinda like the game we played in college with conversation hearts:)

Oh! I dont' know who to tag--so anyone who reads this can be tagged if they want to be:)

Date Night

Friday was such a beautiful day with the high of 80 degrees. Damon and I went to the park in the morning and played soccer outside in the afternoon. We picked up Barrett from the train earlier than normal and came home to make dinner. We felt like something summer-y for dinner and decided on pasta salad. We only had pasta, dressing, cheese, and chicken, but it tasted wonderful! We then headed to Woodside Farms for amazingly delicious ice cream and to be outside. Damon loved the ice cream and running around on the lawn. He probably ran 12 laps in this one area. I almost took my camera with us, but decided not to--I'm sad about it now, but am glad I was able to get a picture off their website. It was quite the chore to get Damon into the car since he was having so much fun--I had to trick him with Barrett's cell phone, which later he ended up calling Grandpa Barry:) We gave him a much needed bath, then down to bed. We love our library system here and were able to check out the movie: Becoming Jane. Barrett had homework to do throughout the movie, but I really enjoyed it...even if I had to close my eyes at one part. I wonder how truly acurate it was to Jane Austen's life, but it was still good. I looked on the cover today and saw that it was made by the same studio who did Shakespeare in Love and Ella Enchanted. My sister in law got her hands on an edited copy of Shakespeare in Love and we all enjoyed it. Anyway, back to Becoming Jane...there were parts that were so emotion-filled, that I got teary-eyed. I really liked the end, but it made me cry a little too. Good movie, good food, good night.

Blogger Reader, I love you!

So, a few months ago my cousin, Ashley, blogged about Blogger Reader and how it changed her life. I didn't have a life then, so never tried it out. A few months after that, her sister, Kristen, blogged about Blogger Reader also and how it had changed her life too. I finally decided to give it a try. I have got to say, that yes, it has changed my life as well. It is awesome. You plug in any blog or website you want to be informed of any changes to...aka any new posts. You sign into your google account, click on Reader, and see what shows up. No more checking 15 blogs or more a day to be disappointed when there are no new posts. No more wasting time:) No more trying to find someone's blog, anyone's blog that has a new post. It frees up your time so you can post on your own blog........lots and lots. :) Give it a try, you just might like it!
p.s. It doesn't work with "private" blogs--as far as I know.
p.p.s. Barrett is afraid that since I've been posting so much this month, that people are missing some of my posts. I tell him that real bloggers scroll down to make sure they haven't missed anything. Just make sure you check out Piano Dancin'--then he'll be happy:)

p.p.s. I'm sorry, JaVan, that I put this on YouTube again and it'll be blocked for you, but I can't seem to upload onto blogger.

Piano Dancin'

Lately Damon has loved playig the piano (keyboard). He climbs on the chair and stands up. He's figured out how to play the songs already on the keyboard. One night he totally started dancing to the songs and we kept trying to video it, but it just wasn't the same. A few days later I probably video-ed it 3 more times, but still not the same. Last night was a success!! We were able to capture almost all the dance moves plus a bonus of him saying "Jesus" at the end. What would we do without this little dancer?
p.s. press the stop/pause button on my playlist on the right before viewing:)

Sick

Well, I finally caught it. After seeing family after family pass the bug around and reading people's blogs where they keep getting sick, I thought I was sliding by this year without a problem. Uh, no. I was wrong, boy was I wrong. On Thursday I came home from "running" at a friend's house and proceeded to go along the day's routine. After breakfast, I had a horrible headache and my stomache didn't feel too great. I turned on Elmo and lay on the couch...all morning long. By lunchtime I had the chills and an even worse headache, plus absolutely nothing sounded good. I put Damon down for a nap and then myself. Thankfully, he slept 3 hours! I had to pick up Barrett at the Wilmington train station that night and when I got home, Barrett had to put 2 blankets on me because I had the chills again. I hibernated in the house until Monday morning. I even missed church. I can't remember ever being this sick. I'm glad I'm done, but feel like I missed out on so much. On Monday I noticed many things that reminded me just how long I didn't leave the house--green grass, blossoms on trees, daffodils everywhere!, and the beautiful yellow bushes (forsyth..s something or other)!! I'm glad Spring is finally here...if only the weather would cooperate.
