The day before Barrett's birthday, we surprised him with a piece of Black Forrest Cake from the German bakery. He loved it! The next morning Tommy came in our room and woke up Barrett saying, "I bet you can't believe it's your birthday!" We made him scrambled eggs with tomatoes and green onions, toast, and orange julius. He was able to get off work a little early, so Tommy sent him on a scavenger hunt to find his presents. He opened presents, then we ate an early dinner because Damon's Kindergarten music performance was that evening. We came home for strawberry rhubarb pie and ice cream (such an old man's birthday selection!!) 2 of the young men from church came over with cupcakes they made for Barrett (without their mom's help). Barrett also was able to go to a Phillie's game this weekend with a friend. He had a great day!
