Dover Days
Last weekend was Dover Days in the good old First State. We set off for the parade. I guess it was Damon's first parade ever! (How could that be?!) He was soooo excited. We were at the beginning of the parade route and enjoyed watching everyone in the parade wear colonial outfits. Even the governor (and his wife) of the state came down in a horse and carriage wearing colonial clothing. It was really fun and different. Damon loved getting candy and the boys were plastered with stickers from political candidates for who knows what. Damon loved watching the bands play, waving to the pretty beauty queens, and seeing cool tractors and motorcycles. Tommy devoured 2 lollipops then was off roaming the neighbors yards we were sitting in front of. We then went to see the little elementary school kids do the May Pole Dance and visit a few booths with old colonial things. It was like 80 degrees and the boys were spent. Apparently Damon can "run" for hours without getting tired, but if he has to "walk", he's super tired and needs to be carried. We headed home for lunch and some air conditioning.

Wow Damon got quite a lot of candy at that parade! I think all I ever got was a couple of tootsie rolls. Anyway, we're super jealous of your fun east coast experience. Wish we were there.
