Last weekend was Dover Days. We always look forward to Dover Days. We went to watch fireworks Friday night and saw so many friends. Unlike last year where it was hot and humid, this year was freezing cold. We were bundled up, but enjoyed the show. The next morning was parade day. We went to the "usual spot" near the beginning of the parade route. We really missed our friends that we've watched the parade with every year since moving here (they moved across the country last summer)...but we still had some other great friends to enjoy the festivities with. Kids are so much fun to parade watch with...they get so excited! Our boys love getting the candy that people toss to them. We were cracking up when Damon dove on the street when some candy didn't land right in front of him. It was so funny to see his gut reaction for that moment:)
We always love to see the Governor and his wife and the mayor and his wife dress up in old colonial attire. So festive!
We have a Kraft foods plant near our house. They make Jello, Koolaid, Stove Top, and Crystal Light (I think). They sponsored a craft (Kraft) corner. Kids could make Mother's Day cards and made sandart with their powdered drink products. I thought it was so creative and the boys had a blast!
The YMCA had a booth where little kids could scoop a rubber duckie out of a wading pool. Tommy immediately named his new best friend Squirt. He seriously was his best friend for the next 2 days. When we got home Saturday, I heard him take Squirt on a tour of the house. He showed him the bath tub where they would take a bath later and he showed him his bunk beds. It was pretty adorable.
