A few days before school ended was the 1st Grade Awards Day. They told Damon he was going to receive an award but we didn't know what it would be. We knew it wouldn't be attendance...but didn't want him to think he was getting the highest award like last year, so told him it was probably Citizenship. Well, he received the Principal's Award again (the highest award for grades, behavior, and attendance). This year he received a trophy!!! Last year's was a medal. He was so excited and we are so proud of him! He was so cute that morning while getting ready for school, he wanted to wear a white shirt and tie with jeans. He looked cool:)
So, I took Tommy and Hannah to get a donut before the awards ceremony. We picked one out for Damon to surprise him (and got a breakfast sandwich for dad). This darling girl thought she'd died and gone to heaven. She loved every bite of that donut!
We had a few extra minutes before the awards, so played on the playground for bit.
